ACACIA - Barton

‘If you want a childcare centre where you feel like you are part of a family that cares for your child like the children are their own, then look no further- Acacia will be your home!’ – Acacia Parent

‘Acacia is a wonderful service and the educators care for the children by going the extra mile and helping instill resilience and empathy.’ – Parent

Why Choose Acacia?

Like all our early education centres, Acacia Early Education and Care Centre was established for the purpose of creating a high quality early education experience with the needs of your child dictating the structure of our plans and programs.

Being a non-profit is a key factor in being able to put time and resources into providing qualified passionate educators combined with a well structured, fun and safe environment.

About the Centre

Acacia has built a centre with a strong sense of connection between parents and carers, children and educators which developed from the use of a shared outdoor learning space for all children and a communal dining area which has become the hub of the centre.

Acacia has been working with the Canberra environment centre to establish and maintain vegetable and herb gardens. The children have been very involved in the  ‘grow together’ project where they learn about gardening, healthy foods and sustainable practices.

We have embedded Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the curriculum and once a month an Aboriginal Elder visits our both our Acacia and Birralee centres to talk about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through music, dance and storytelling.

Educators at Acacia are committed to nurturing and supporting the individual needs and values of each child and their families.
