Why Choose Acacia?
Like all our early education centres, Acacia Early Education and Care Centre was established for the purpose of creating a high quality early education experience with the needs of your child dictating the structure of our plans and programs.
Being a non-profit is a key factor in being able to put time and resources into providing qualified passionate educators combined with a well structured, fun and safe environment.
About the Centre
Acacia a medium size centre (64 places). It has a strong sense of community which has been created with the use of a shared outdoor learning space for all children as well as a shared dining area which is the central hub of the centre.
Acacia has been working with the Canberra environment centre to establish and maintain vegetable and herb gardens. The children have been very involved in the ‘grow together’ project where they learn about gardening, healthy foods and sustainable practices.
We have embedded Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the curriculum and once a month an Aboriginal Elder visits our both our Acacia and Birralee centres to talk about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through music, dance and storytelling.
Educators at Acacia are committed to nurturing and supporting the individual needs and values of each child and their family.
