The Food Pantry
Helping Vulnerable Canberran’s Access Affordable Food & Groceries
Our Food Pantry is a community outlet for people with a genuine need or those on a limited income. We make good food affordable and accessible. Our Food Pantry is COVID-19 compliant.
The food in our pantry is provided by FoodBank NSW, OzHarvest, Dinner’s Ready, St Vincent de Paul, The Period Project, Rainbow Paws Program, Domestic Animal Services ACT and community donations. We are currently working in partnership with Canberra Relief Network. If you’re on a low income, are unemployed, or struggling to get by, shopping at the Food Pantry will help stretch your budget. We have a variety of quality groceries and household products for a small donation.

How much does it cost?
The Food Pantry operates on a cost recovery basis. This means that there is no fixed charge for items in the Food Pantry, however, in order to cover costs, a donation is appreciated. This can be in the form of a food voucher you have received from a community service organisation or a nominal amount based on the groceries chosen.
Maximum purchases is $40.00.
How you can help
Volunteer – The CS#1 Food Pantry is supported by volunteers.
Donate – If you are a local individual or business that would like to contribute we welcome donations of food, toiletries and cleaning products. Donations of non perishables can be dropped off at 63 Boolimba Cres Narrabundah on weekdays between 9am and 4pm.
Sponsor – Monetary donations are welcome and will help us to purchase products that we can’t always source cheaply (such as nappies, coffee and hygiene products). The more sponsors we receive, the more people we can help in our community. Donations can be made via the ‘DONATE’ button on the homepage.
Get in touch with reception@communityservices1.org if you’d like to get involved!
