Chair Yoga  – is a great way for older adults to enjoy the health benefits of yoga and also makes it accessible to more people. Staying seated while doing yoga means that frail seniors or those who aren’t flexible can safely do the exercises. The benefits of chair yoga for older adults include loosening and stretching painful muscles, reducing chronic pain, decreasing stress, and improving circulation. It can help to reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, protects joints and build strength and balance.

Older adults who practice chair yoga in a regular basis, would find that they have gain better lower-body flexibility and balance. They also have less fear of falling and more confidence in their physical abilities. Chair yoga can also help participants develop and maintain muscle strength and improve their upper- and lower-body function.

Practicing chair yoga may help to boost your mood and mental well-being. It can help to manage chronic conditions and reduce chronic pain.
