
CS#1 runs quality Out of School Hours Care and School Holiday Programs at Mawson Public School, Throsby School and St Michael’s School in Kaleen. In 2025 we opened new Out of School Hours Care programs at St Peter and Paul School in Garran and Rosary School in Watson.

The Throsby School Out of Hours Care & School Holiday Program
‘As a Defence Family, we have been to a few different schools and therefore attended a few different OSHC programs. The OSHC run by Community Services 1 at Throsby School is probably the best OSHC that we have been to.‘ – Throsby Parent July 2022

Inclusions: Fees for before and after school care sessions and holiday programs are all inclusive and cover all costs for activities including excursions, internal enrichment and all meals/snacks. Children attending before and after school care are provided with a nutritious breakfast or afternoon tea and a late snack each day. Children attending our school holiday program are provided with breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
Program: Children have access to a wide range of resources such as board games, construction, art and craft, books, small world and dramatic play resources. Planned experiences based on the children’s interest are run each session, including: Mandarin Club, Art Club, Cooking Club, Dance Club, Environmental Club, Wellbeing Club, Sports Club and Knitting Club.
Educators: Our qualified educators are paid above award wages. We value their important work in caring for and educating tomorrow’s leaders.
Communication: We communicate using app based software – OWNA – which allows educators and families to communicate about children’s participation in the program and to receive service information. The app manages accounts and billing and allows families to mark children absent or to book casual sessions. We encourage families to download the app.
