CS#1 Nutrition Program
In 2018, Community Services #1 received funding to deliver a Nutrition Support Program as part of the ACT Government’s Health Promotion Innovation Fund.
The aim of the project is to measure nutrition awareness and eating habits of CS#1’s clients, staff and our community.
In collaboration with Dietitian Kristine Groeller we have developed information cards that show the link between health conditions and how nutrition can enhance wellbeing and improve health. These relate to topics that our clients and families need help with (such as healthy eating to aid sleep, anxiety and depression, eating for weight loss etc.). These cards have been written in plain English, professionally designed and printed to be distributed to our clients. For recipes and ideas, we recommend visiting The Heart Foundation and Nutrition Australia. We look forward to releasing more cards in 2019.

Over the period of the program, the Dietitian will also work with our Community Development Officer to develop and present information sessions tailored to all of our community groups
For those most vulnerable in our community we will offer a one-on-one consultation with the Dietitian to assist them and their families with nutrition and eating behaviours. These consultations
will also help guide the nutrition advice in our information cards in 2019 so they reflect community needs.
