The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced person with an eye for detail to provide timely basic gardening and maintenance (non-structural maintenance but minor repairs) to the CS#1 services based in Narrabundah, Canberra City and the Inner South.

Specifically, we are looking for an experienced, versatile and enthusiastic go-getter who is capable of performing various maintenance tasks across all CS#1 venues and service locations.

The Responsibilities

You will be required to provide a wide variety of basic maintenance and gardening support, which could include:

Gardening

  • Mowing
  • Weeding
  • Leaf blowing
  • Trimming
  • Top up garden beds and sandpits
  • Rubbish removal.

Maintenance

  • Minor plumbing repairs such as fixing dripping taps or running toilet cisterns
  • Fitting shelves, hanging pictures and changing locks
  • Re-hanging doors
  • Changing light bulbs
  • Paint touch ups
  • Moving furniture or equipment, assembly or repairs.

To be successful in the Groundskeeper and Maintenance role, you will ideally:

  • Have previous experience in a similar role
  • Have an ability to operate power and hand tools, and reverse a trailer, safely and competently
  • To be a professional and able to follow instructions with an attention to detail
  • Have an understanding of your WHS obligations
  • Be flexible and be reliable
  • Have great communication skills.

Additional requirements

  • ACT Working With Vulnerable People card, or the ability to obtain
  • Evidence of COVID vaccination
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights.

Desirable requirements

  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Test and Tag Certificate, or the ability to obtain
  • First Aid Certificate.
