Centre Director – Mawson Out of School Hours Care Program
Fantastic opportunity for a professional and motivated Director or an experienced Assistant Director to provide leadership, vision and guidance to a quality program.
The Mawson Out of School Hours Care Director is responsible for ensuring centre compliance and the effective day to day running of the service, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. This includes training and supporting educators, overseeing the curriculum and fostering relationships with children, families, educators, the school and the community. The Director ensures the quality and consistency of care while leading the team to meet the program’s goals.
About the role:
- Mawson OSHC is located at Mawson Primary school and is licensed for 143 children.
- Mawson OSHC leadership team consists of a Director, an assistant director, team leaders and deputy team leaders. There are also consistent casual educators who work across the week.
- When arranging staff, the Director is counted above ratio.
- This is a permanent full-time position (76 hours/fortnight) working block shifts of either 7.00am-3.00pm or 10.00am-6.00pm. Split shift will be required as needed to fill ratio or if leadership team members are away.
- Above award wage, including:
- Children’s Services Award – Children’s Services Employee Level 6 with salary from $40.52- $48.86, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- An on-call allowance of $9.75 per day
- When a split shift is required, the split shift allowance of $19.00 per day will be paid.
- A comprehensive handover with the current Director for a long as required until you feel comfortable in the role.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has the requirements for an ACECQA approved first qualified educator eg.
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or School Age Care (or ACECQA equivalent); or
- 2 years experience working with School Age Children AND 2 years in a Diploma or Bachelor Degree in any field.
- Has experience working in a Director, Assistant Director or Coordinator role in an Early Learning Centre or Out of School Hours Care service.
- Has a current ACT WWVP card or are willing to obtain
- Has a First aid, asthma and anaphylaxis certificates, or are willing to obtain
- Has a strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including My Time Our Place or the Early Years Learning Framework.
