Assistant Director (Two positions) – Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) and Early Education and Care Centres

CS#1 is seeking two vibrant, self-motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Directors who are passionate about children’s education and providing a happy, friendly environment with excellent care and education through an inclusive play-based curriculum. About the roles:

1.         Assistant Director  – OSHC – Throsby Primary School

The successful applicant will fill the role of Assistant Director, First Qualified and have experience as a Responsible Person. Working to support the Director and mentor the Team Leader and Educators. The successful applicant will demonstrate effective communication skills, a warm and positive outlook and be able to inspire high quality early education.

  • Permanent full time position (76 hours/fortnight)
  • Before School Care (7.00am to 9.30am)
  • After School Care (2.00pm to 6.00pm)
  • Admin duties (approx. 11 hours per fortnight which can be either in am or pm )
  • Shifts may vary during School Holiday Program
  • Provide guidance and support to a quality program
  • Establish and nurture respectful relationships with children, families and staff
  • Support Educators  to provide engaging learning environments that allow children to think critically and direct their own learning while ensuring the overall health, wellbeing and safety of all children attending the service

Assistant Director rewards:

  • Children’s Services Award – Children’s Services Employee Level 5
  • Base hourly rate between $31.81 and $33.67, commensurate with qualification and experience
  • Split Shift Allowance
  • Free car parking at Throsby
  • Excellent salary packaging options that allow you to spend $18,550 of your pre-tax salary on everyday expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, groceries, school fees, etc) and entertainment (e.g. eating out), significantly increasing your take home pay. Other packaging options are also available (e.g. superannuation, leasing a car)
  • Partner with the Director for professional supervision, and enjoy the support of the total CS#1 Leadership Group
  • Staff health and wellbeing program

2.         Assistant Director  – Barton

The successful applicant will fill the role of both Assistant Director and Educational Leader, across two Centres within walking distance of each other. Working off the floor to support and mentor Educators, while also learning the business aspects of the Director role. The successful applicant will demonstrate effective communication skills, a warm and positive outlook and be able to inspire high quality early education.

  • Permanent full time position (76 hours/fortnight)
  • Provide leadership, vision, guidance and support to a quality program
  • Establish and nurture respectful relationships with children, families and staff
  • Support Educators  to provide engaging learning environments that allow children to think critically and direct their own learning while ensuring the overall health, wellbeing and safety of all children attending the service

Assistant Director requirements for either role:

  • Diploma in Early Education and Care (or ACEQA approved equivalent)
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration
  • COVID 19 vaccinations in line with Government regulations
  • First aid certificate, including asthma and anaphylaxis
  • Commitment to developing leadership skill that will support a diverse team in providing quality early childhood education and care.
  • Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the Early Years Learning Framework (for Barton)/ My Time Our Place (for Throsby)
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current driver licence and own car (desirable)
