We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager who has knowledge of not-for-profit community service organisations and experience with managing finance teams.

About the role:

The primary purpose of this position is the management of the financial program, administration and advisory functions in line with the Organisation’s strategic financial goals, and provide supervision to the Finance team.

The position manages the Organisation’s payroll and accounting functions, providing high-quality operational reports of the Organisation’s financial position to the Deputy CEO, and deliver continuous improvement across finance processes and support tools.

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • establishing and maintaining financial, management and operational standards across the organisation ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies by ensuring accuracy and integrity of consolidated financial results, etc.
  • managing and developing the team by providing leadership, mentoring, support and guidance to deliver quality services
  • creating and managing monthly and annual budgeting processes
  • overseeing the payroll function and the accounts receivable/payable functions
  • managing tax compliance including BAS, GST and FBT preparation
  • managing P&L, balance sheet, cash flows and budgets
  • managing Federal and State funding acquittals
  • consulting to identify and develop business improvement opportunities, responsive to organisational needs
  • creating, implementing and embedding financial management processes

Rewards and remuneration:

  • Permanent full time position available now
  • Annual salary from $92,000, plus superannuation (Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 6)

To be successful in the Manager of Finance role, you will have:

  • CPA or CA qualified (desirable)
  • hold an Advanced Diploma or Bachelor qualifications in relevant fields such as Finance and Accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • as an integral part of the CS#1 Leadership Team, you will have a strong and dedicated work ethic
  • work well under pressure, are proactive and a self-starter with strong communication skills and an approachable demeanour
  • demonstrated experience in financial accounting, including data gathering, preparation, extraction and reporting information, funding acquittals and payroll.
  • demonstrated ability to lead a finance team through change and develop a strong customer service culture to achieve outcomes and skills development
  • demonstrated experience of not for profit organisations and funding
  • demonstrated commitment to continuous business improvement and experience managing successful workplace change.
