Amanda is the Chief Executive Office at Community Services # 1 and is a very strong leader. Her key strengths are in her diverse experience and high level understanding of the not-for-profit, Government and corporate sectors. She has high level strategic thinking capabilities and vast experienced in advocacy and considerable commercial experience. Amanda has an exceptional ability to achieve results in demanding and challenging environments and an ability to build excellent relationships at all levels. Amanda has very strong academic qualifications including a Degree in Community Education, an Advanced Diploma of Management and a Diploma of Government.
Executive Director for Business and Infrastructure
Ashley is the Executive Director for Business and Infrastructure at Community Services #1. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, she began her career with the global car hire company Enterprise Holdings. Her tenure of climbing the corporate ladder and gaining North American and European experience in various financial roles. She joined the team at CS#1 in October 2015. Her oversight includes finance, payroll, and administrative functions of the organization. Additionally, she is responsible for Optimum Training a Development, a Registered Training Organisation, which offers several Certificate III and Diploma courses.
Ashley has developed a strong sense of organizational capability through maintaining strong internal controls and fiduciary responsibility. She is passionate about the community, CS#1, and her team.
Executive Director of People and Culture
Libby is the Executive Director of People and Culture. Libby is a strategic thinker who has exceptional skills in aligning business needs with people solutions. Libby has over 25 years’ experience as a HR Generalist and has vast expertise in both HR management and HR processes.
Libby is a strong leader who is passionate about creating safe and effective work environments, coupled with innovative systems and supports; where people can thrive.
Executive Director for Community Support Services
Merlin is the Executive Director for Community Support Services at Community Services #1. He was the Property Council of Australia’s ACT Executive Director, and played an instrumental role in highlighting the value of mixed-use developments in our city—which gained government commitment to fast-track strata reforms last August.
Currently pursuing innovation and entrepreneurship studies at Stanford University, Merlin has advised some of the ACT’s up-and-coming companies on growth, and once managed inward investments for the Territory. It has been a career path that’s allowed him to be a capitalist, technologist, and humanist all in one. He’s a firm believer that success—commercial or otherwise—is ultimately the result of having passion for improving people’s lives.
Executive Director of Children and Youth
Katherine has worked in the not for profit sector for over 17 years and has a passion for providing children with the gift of education. Katherine has extensive experience in the Early Education and Care sector predominantly working with children under the age of 5 years. Katherine believes the first 5 years of a child’s life are critical in their development and advocates strongly for children to have exposure to early education as their human right. In her role as the Executive Director of Children and Youth she has the privilege to set policy and through this influence the young minds that attend Community Services # 1’s Education and Care Centres.
Katherine has extensive expertise as a leader with over 10 years’ experience and has a passion for coaching and mentoring. Katherine has an appetite for deepening her knowledge around leadership and the importance within a team environment.
